Our core vision is a Kenya where respect for economic and social rights as outlined in the Constitution of Kenya 2010 is enabled through robust public budgets that are reflective of and responsive to the stated needs and priorities of citizens across the country. To achieve this, we promote more open, inclusive and participatory budget processes in Kenya, with the goal of ensuring that public resources are raised and used in ways that are equitable and benefit all citizens. We do this through collaborative research, capacity building and advocacy efforts at the local and national level with civil society, government, and citizens.

Since 2014, IBP Kenya started implementing a wider set of programmes and building the systems necessary to run more independently. By 2021 the organisation had most of the necessary systems to run as a full national organisation and started a process to spin off from IBP Inc. In 2024, Bajeti Hub completed the spin off from IBP Inc. and officially became a fully Kenyan owned and Kenyan led organisation. While the organisation has changed its name, it continues to commit its work to the value of budgets that are transparent, inclusive, equitable and responsive to the needs of citizens.
